Presidential debate: Do you think the presidential debate should have been delayed because of the nation's financial crisis?
Comment: The debate can be rescheduled if need be. It is not manditory to have a debate besides other other debates are scheduled. If the senators are needed to conduct the nations business...then let them work. After all they are elected senators, not just presidential candidates. by Joe
Comment: Everything for the presidential election should be put on hold until the financial crisis is cleared up. Everyone needs to be in Washington until then. No exceptions. from Cantonment, FL by Lin
Comment: why have a debate in the first place? people should know already whom they want for our next president. i know who i want. do you? from seminole, alabama by wilson
Comment: I believe the crisis is much more important than a debate. We need both candidates to be focused on this crisis more than who can answer questions about their stand on other issues. I for one worry about how this crisis will end up effecting me. from Pensacola Fl by Jackie
Comment: McCain's wanting to delay the debate WAS just another campaign stunt. More smoke and mirrors that we could all do without as our country rots from within! from Pensacola, Fl by Rick
Comment: Both senators should be at work in the Senate. from Crestview, FL by Fred
Comment: Absolutely NOT! We don't need another Rethuglican president who can't walk & chew gum at the same time. from Pensacola/FL by Carol
Comment: If Obama really thinks that "a president should be able to handle more than one thing at a time", why didn't he accept McCain's challenge to the town hall debates this summer? Apparently it was more important to make his case to Europeans, who have no vote in America (at least we hope they don't--but when Democrats need votes, they're not picky about the source). I'm glad the debate is on because I've been looking forward to it, but what we should have done is move the debate to Washington DC so both Senators could participate without neglecting the job we're actually paying them to do. from Pensacola, Fl by Faith
Comment: Yes. And if Osama had a little more experience, he would know that too. from Milton/FL by A
Comment: They are on the payroll and should be working They should only campaign when on leave or not on the payroll from Ft Walton Bch, Fl by Edward
Comment: Yes, What is more important? Finding a solution for the economic crisis our country is in, or having one of the presidential candidates reading his answer to preselected questions on foreign policy. While President elect McCain gives his opinion based on experience.
Everyone knows that B.O. is good at giving prepaired speeches, while Senator McCain has the experience to run this great country and get it back on the road to recovery.
How can anyone think a man who does not know that there are 50 States, is thankful that Senator McCain has not brought up his Muslim faith is capable of holding any office let alone be President.
Come on people wake up... from pace, Florida by steve
Comment: I think it should have been delayed if those we're paying in Congress to get something done don't get something done. I think McCain showed great wisdom and maturity as well as leadership by being willing to give up the spotlight to serve...par for the course from this man. from Pace, FL by Mandy
Comment: It really doesn't matter. 30 minutes into the debate and I have not heard ONE WORD about Foreign Affairs. Everytime the moderator tries to get them to talk about it, Obama starts in on the national stuff and avoids the foreign affairs altogether. It's a HOAX!!
McCain can't respond to Obama and still do what the moderator asks.
I'm going back to watching my ballgame. from Pensacola, FL by JRoAnne
Comment: Glad the debate went forward. And now that I have listened to both in this first debate, I am concerned that People are going to pay attention to the glitter attempted to be displayed by "The One"and not pay attention to the detail provided Mr. McCain when he could get a word in edgewise. There is no way this country can afford to live with "The One" as a so called leader of our country. I have now solidified my support for Mr. Mc Cain. Dispite all the retoric supplied BHO, I am more certain that we need to get behind McCain/Palin and move this country forward by reducing taxes and spending, while maintiain our security. I feel Mr McCain has the necessary experience to do this and would succeed. Thanks for listening to my rant. from Pensacola, FL by John
Comment: The debates had nothing to do with the problem in Washington. Obama was able to attend both with no problem. It was a Mc Cain campaign ploy to try to make him look good. from Fl. by C J
Comment: I think that you are so bias. You showed all democrates clapping for Obama. I will never watch your news show again. from Pensacola Fl by Rudy
Comment: They both have been "hired" to do a job--senator--which should come first. One thought his job was most improtant, the other did not. That tells me which one to vote for--the one that will do his primary job. from Crestview, FL by Ernest R.
Comment: The nation's crisis should take first priority and not some debate! The candidates are both Senators and NEED to still perform their duties as such!!! They need to be responsible in their jobs as well. from Milton, FL by Kim
