Comment: This is the only way!
from Valparaiso, FL by Donna
Comment: Most definitely. from Pensacola, FL by Marilyn
Comment: It makes me think that some of the Judges are child sexual abusers. The Feds need to leave the states to what they want to do. from ft walton beach fl by marsha
Comment: Lets face it. Penalties for any crime isn't harsh enough these days. People need to be tought to think twice before taking action on a crime. So be it if we have to put a few to death. from Pensacola / Fl. by Debra
Comment: Absolutely they should be eligible for the death penalty! They essentially have "killed" their victims emotionally, they should have to pay a similar price for their crime? from Pensacola, FL by Jennifer
Comment: The problem with extending the death penalty is: Where do you stop?o we execute that son who did a DUI manslaughter on his mother? The guy who set his girlfriend on fire klast week?
The Supreme Court has issued two big decisions this week. Talking bad about them won't change them. from Navarre, FL by Mort
Comment: i think so anybody who rapes somebody should get death penalty child or adult it is wrong from pensacola by allison
Comment: I think that anyone who would do such a sick and deprived thing to a small child or any child for that matter deserves to be put to death. The argument that its cruel and unusual punishment or to extreme for the crime is just insane. What about that poor child that little girl or boy who will never know what a normal childhood is like and most likely will suffer silently for thier entire life? If you ask me that is the cruel and unusual punishment and I know the death penalty would be far more humaine than anything I would do to someone who did such a thing to my child. from Pensacola Florida by Brandy
Comment: If the child is under 10, and there is definitive DNA proof of a brutal rape, then yes. In my mind, child rapists are the most heinous predators there are; and they are likely going to become repeat offenders. We must protect the most innocent members of society, our children. from milton, fl by margaret
Comment: If you destroy a life you forfeit yours. by Frank
Comment: They are extremely sickened people who should not walk this earth. You can not rehabilitate these kind of people. If they do it once they will continue to do so with every chance they get. from Crestview/ Fl by Damion
Comment: Personal Experience... Having been sexually violated as a child I believe that my offender deserves far more than what he has received as punishment. Several years have passed and yet I still relive the pain each time I see him around town. I can not get away from where he is fast enough. While I don't think his level of offense necessarily deserves the death penalty (castration would be sufficient) - I do think that a CHILD RAPIST deserves the death penalty. PROTECT THE CHILDREN!!! from Pensacola by childhood
Comment: I absolutely think a child rapist should be eligible for the death penalty. Not only that, I think it should be a mandatory punishment for such an aweful crime. The violation of a grown adult is bad enough in itself, but to do such a thing to an innocent, impressionable child is one of the worst crimes a person could commit. The physical and mental trauma it causes for a child is unimaginable to those who have not suffered through it. If we had stronger, mandatory punishments in place for breaking the laws, perhaps we would have a chance at bettering the communities in which we live. from Pensacola, FL by Amanda
Comment: At the Jakarta airport in Indonesia there is a large sign for all to read when entering the country. "Be forwarned. Drug trafficking in Indonesia is punishable by death." If Indonesia can execute drug smugglers then America can execute child rapists. Rape may not kill the body but it kills the soul and heart of a child. from Pensacola, Florida by Jody
Comment: even criminals have a code...and it is not to harm a child...if a death penalty cannot be applied...then the charges should be bumped up one or two notches... from p'cola by h
Comment: The worst crime imaginable. This country spends more effort punishing drug users than people who ruin the lives of our children. from Crestview / FL by Andrew
Comment: "Old enough to do the crime, old enough to do the time". If anyone is old enough to commit a rape, he is old enough to pay for it, no matter what the cost. from Mary Esther, FL. by Tom
Comment: But it doesn't really matter because a child rapist sentenced to prison is actually receiving a death sentence! from Milton / FL by A
Comment: Serious crimes have long been to lightly dealt with. Most criminals have no fear of the judicial systems, so they have no reason to change their heinous behaviors. In short- no fear, no change. from Pensacola by Todd
Comment: any rapist from creatview,fl by manuel
Comment: Yes, We need to make the regulations tougher on offenders. I think that anyone that harms a child should be excuted in a very painful death. They do not deserve any rights whatsoever! from Pace, Florida by Christina
