PORN-FREE HOTELS

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Porn-free or keep looking. That could be the rule for Minnesota government employees wanting a hotel room. Legislators are considering a bill that would prevent state employees on official business from renting hotel rooms that have pornos on the pay-per-view. Supporters say they're not targeting premium cable channels like HBO or Showtime, but hardcore, triple X-rated video. The American Hotel and Lodging Association opposes the legislation, saying in-room viewing choices should be left to the patron.

SWITZERLAND-BROTHEL FIRE

BASEL, Switzerland (AP) -- Talk about hot sex! A naked man escaped from a burning Swiss brothel by climbing onto a window ledge. The Swiss daily Blick reports the fire was in an apartment used by transsexual hookers. Blick even published a photo of the naked guy. He was treated and released from a hospital after suffering light burns.

TROOPER'S GUN-RESTROOM

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) -- Leaving something in a restroom is a mistake almost anyone could make. But the mistake in this instance was leaving a gun. Indiana State Police report a trooper left his loaded handgun in the men's room at a Lowe's home improvement store in Fort Wayne. The trooper was off-duty. By the time he realized the weapon was missing -- a store employee had found it and turned it over to local police. State police officials haven't named the trooper involved. But a local TV station reports he'll stay on duty while the case of the misplaced gun is investigated.

TATTOO TEACHER

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Teach, keep your tats covered! That's the order from Ogden, Utah, school officials to English teacher Mark Johnson. He's been warned about violating a new district reg against faculty having visible tattoos, facial piercings and baggy pants. Johnson's left forearm is covered with ink, including his wife's initials and tributes to his kids. He says the rule against tattoos sends the wrong message to kids about free expression. Johnson's now thinking about sending out his resume and looking for another job.

BANNED JOGGER

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) -- Cussing and jogging don't mix. That's the word from authorities in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, who've banished a man from the city. Craig O'Brien faces disorderly conduct charges after police say he yelled obscenities while jogging. Terms of his bail require the Maine resident to stay away from Portsmouth while the charges are pending. O'Brien's lawyer argues the bail conditions are unconstitutional. Prosecutors contend the alleged cussing jogger has violated terms of his bail.
