We found the ladies of St. Sylvester in the midst of one of their charitable acts.

Oh, I love that.
Once a month, St. Sylvester Catholic Church is bustling with activity when the Columbiettes gather to "sew" seeds of compassion.
Judy Carron, Columbiettes President; My family was helped with Hospice. Many of our friends have been helped and served by Hospice so it's just a way of giving back to them and serving our community.
The mission for Covenant Hospice started four years ago with a flier seeking volunteers.
Judy, I'm too emotional to work with the sick and dying; I would not be a comfort to them. But, it said you could do crafts and I thought, Angela
Their Master Crafter Angela Zangerle set about bringing out the artist in all of the ladies. They've combined their gifts to make caps, turbans, pillows, lap blankets and walker bags for terminally ill patients.

As they learn of other needs or ways they can make a difference, the ladies immediately add a project. They thought something special should be done just for our veterans.

Angela; They have served our country for so long without recognition, without calling attention to themselves.
The Columbiettes have been quietly going about their mission too. Last year alone, they donated over 1250 items to hospice and to patients they may never know.
Angela; If one life can be touched and one smile can be gained, that's all we need. It keeps us going.
