ANGELS IN OUR MIDST
Retired from air force civil service, Anthony Roberts has devoted his life to children, anybody's children, for the past 15 years.
You could try to tally the amount of time he devotes and money he contributes; but what the children get from him is priceless.
Voice of Anthony Roberts; At the present time, I'm either mentoring or tutoring at three or four different schools.
And that's when Anthony Roberts isn't running youth programs at two churches, helping at a Community Center, financing educational trips or giving tennis lessons.
How did it go this weekend?
Today, his full attention is on a Mary Esther Elementary 5th grader, Dylan Madison.
He's kind of curious to know how my weekend is, how my day was?
Something as simple as asking about his day is a really big thing for Dylan.
I was actually hoping for a mentor because I never get a lot of people that hang around me a lot. So, now that I have Mr. Roberts, I can actually hang out with someone occasionally.
So, like, my age group, I would be like the oldest group ...
Anthony Roberts, I know that the kids and the youth, they need some guidance, they need some encouragement. That's the reason that many, many years ago, I decided that I would devote as much time as I could.
Since his own grandchildren live away, Mr. Roberts makes good use of his grandfather skills between their visits.
I picked up another one of these books here. So, I started working on it some. Let's see if we can finish it.

Whether it's strategizing over soduku or chatting about guy stuff, every week, Anthony Roberts fills a void.
Dylan Madison, He is a great mentor.
It felt like he was my friend.
I'm glad to hear that.
An adult that they can go to and share some things with, is a benefit.
