Tropical Depression 2 has formed over the Atlantic Ocean. The system is moving west and is headed to the Caribbean Sea. This system is not forecast to become much stronger and could become non-tropical by Thursday.

County proposes new ordinance to help feral cat problem

The overpopulation problem of wild cats is growing in Escambia County.
The county is now proposing an ordinance to start a "Trap-Neuter-Release" program.

Officials say there are about 50,000 feral cats in Escambia County.
According to the County Animal Services Manager -- last year, more than four-thousand cats were euthanized at a cost of more than 400-thousand dollars.
   
The public hearing on this ordinance will be on July 24th at 5:30. County proposes new ordinance to help feral cat problem
