Bay Area Food Banks' Summer Food program

Updated: Wednesday, July 16 2014, 11:57 AM CDT
The Bay Area Food Bank is partnering with more than thirty community organizations to serve lunch, breakfast and dinner during the summer.

The program is offered in communities where at least half the families qualify for free or reduced lunch during the school year.

Organizers say one of the challenges is finding partner sites.

Dave Reaney, Executive Director, Bay Area Food Bank:
"The need has always been more than we can serve, so for us it's a case of finding the places where the kids are in summer, working with that organization and getting the food to 'em."

If you'd like find a site or suggest a partnership, you can call 62613-32.
