Air Force Armament Museum closed due to shutdown

Updated: Thursday, October 10 2013, 03:19 PM CDT
EGLIN AFB   --   The Air Force Armament Museum at Eglin Air Force Base is now closed to the public because of the government shutdown.

The museum was opened Monday.
However, following a review of guidance from both the Air Force and The Department of Defense, it was determined that opening the museum did not fit within the list of operations that can continue to be supported during the lapse in appropriations.

Some staff members returned to work yesterday at the National Naval Aviation Museum aboard NAS Pensacola..

But, the museum is still closed and there is no word about when its Anniversary Celebration will be rescheduled.
