PAY IT FORWARD: (Operation Blessing)

Updated: Thursday, May 15 2014, 04:24 PM CDT
When Channel Three News started to Pay It Forward three years ago, we aimed to help our community one person or family at a time.

But with so many people in need after last week's flood it was impossible to choose just one.
Instead we chose to Pay it Forward to an entire group of people who have dedicated themselves to helping others.

Normally, I chase strangers.
"Are you interested in 500 dollars by chance?"
Normally, I look for people who want to help someone else.
"Who can you think of?"
But there's nothing normal about 26 inches of rain in a matter of hours.
"Such devastation and tragedy, to see such loss."
So, just this once, I put my sign away.
And just this once, Hill-Kelly Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram -- threw out the Pay it Forward rules.
We'd already seen a group - one of many - who were already Paying it Forward,

"I have been wrapped in so much love."
Operation Blessings has been lending a hand and offering help to as many of our Northwest Florida neighbors as they can.

"They've got the right name. Blessings."
"This widow lady here didn't have any one to help."
That widow is Doris Munoz.
Her husband passed years ago, as did many of her family.
But she keeps them near with her collection of family photos.
"That's me and my sister."
"This is my grandmother."
Her pictures go back generations.
Most of the photos survived the two feet of water that flooded her home, many of her other things did not.

'They'll be things to do for months."
"They have been a blessing. They are so helpful and one of the young women stayed right with me."
Next door, Bobby Eddins and his wife are being helped, too.
"They took out the carpet and the walls. They've just been a blessing to us."

"We couldn't have done it without them."
"I would like to ask God to bless each one of them."

"This has been my third year of blessings."
"You have to give back."
"On behalf of Hill-Kelly Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram, here's a little money to help you. It's 500 dollars."

"We also have some other stuff
"Water, bleach, work gloves."
"Pay it Forward."
Thank you to our partner Hill-Kelly Dodge Chrysler Jeep for making Pay it Forward possible.
