Updated: Tuesday, January 15 2013, 11:55 AM EST
Moderately severe.
That's how the Florida Surgeon General, Dr. John Armstrong, is describing the state's flu season.
Florida is one of 41 states with confirmed cases.
The Centers of Disease Control says 18 children have died across the country so far because of the flu.
Health experts are urging vaccinations for everyone six months and older.
At this time there is no shortage of vaccines in Florida.
