PENSACOLA -- A Montgomery jury says a maker of off road vehicles owes a Pensacola woman nearly 3.4 million dollars.
Jackie Kugelman was injured back in 2007.
She was riding her UTV on her Alabama farm when it tipped over while she was making a right turn.
She was seriously injured.
Her lawyers say there have been several complaints made nationwide about the particular Yamaha model and it's problem with turns but this is the first successful lawsuit.
Her attorneys say there are about 100,000 of the Yamaha Rhino model 660 still being used.
The biggest thing is justice to Yamaha, I wanted this to happen so it could protect everyone else out there who has one and have them think before they ride it again.
Yamaha says it plans to appeal the verdict.
They point out that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt, helmet or any protective clothing at the time of the accident as is recommended when driving their vehicles.
