Thousands of walkers and hundreds of teams will join the "Making Strides for Breast Cancer" walk in Pensacola later this month.

Savanna Brooks is a major kickball enthusiast . Her friend Rhiannon Cooper is not but she is a good sport.

"Gonna be a lot of fun, this is the first time I've done anything like this since I was eight."
The two and their 50 member Making Strides team, "The Baptist Jiggly Crew" are heading up a kickball tournament this weekend in Pace. Last year their group raised 3,000 dollars doing other events. This year they're aiming for ten.

"There's a high rate of cancer in my family, breast cancer and ovarian cancer and I feel that's it's my personal duty to myself and my daughter to help raise money for research."

"Cancer's been a big part of my life, my entire life.  The last four generations of women in my family have actually battled breast cancer."
Both women have young daughters they keep in mind as they walk, fundraise and play kickball for the cause. Both are also Baptist Hospital employees. Brooks says she had the honor of working with breast cancer patients for years and keeps their stories close to her heart.

"Oncology patients are truly the most incredible patients you'll ever meet.  They are so strong and brave and very inspirational.  I learned so much from them."

The "Jiggly Crew" kickball tournament is still taking  players and teams. It's this Saturday in Pace at the Santa Rosa County Sportsplex also known as "PARA".
