Angels in our Midst (Wide Angle Photo Club)

They capture the images, the faces, the moments of our lives; it's their hobby.
The members of the Wide Angle Photo Club show us what happens when you put the power of photography into the hands of the angels in our midst.

Marty Campbell, Wide Angle Photo Club;  "The club is to get together photographers.  It doesn't matter if you're an advanced portrait professional or someone with a point and shoot camera.  We try to mentor each other, go out on photo shoots together.  Just have a good time but at the same time, use it for a good cause."

That good cause selected to receive the proceeds from the power of photography show, is ARC Gateway.  The agency provides services for more than 900 children and adults with developmental disabilities.   Many of the club members felt a connection.

Marty;  "For me especially, I had a brother who had Down Syndrome...  If it weren't for places like ARC, then some of the kids and adults would not have the chance that they have now."

Carol Langston, Wide Angle Photo Club;  "I have a friend or two that have children with disabilities, not in this community, but who need these services elsewhere, and I know how important this organization is."

The ARC Gateway donation comes from photo entry fees and the vendors who provide products for a silent auction.  Their contribution has tripled in support of the cause.

Carol;  "The first time I met the man from On One Software, I told him it went to ARC Gateway, he said, I'll send you five suites."

Marty;  "If they step back and look back, they'll see someone in their family that has some disabilities or just needs a little help."

Carol;  "It's a win-win situation for them and for us.  They get to introduce their products to people.  The people get to see it but they know the money's going for a real good organization and that's what brings them year after year."

They're still tallying the results of this year's show.  No matter how much money they raise for ARC Gateway, they know that the power of photography shows the power of people to make a difference.

Carol;  "Well, we're proud to do it, we really are."
