They had a declining membership of about 200. Now their numbers are above *800 and growing.

Couples, the newly widowed, the lonely are finding fitness, fun and purpose at a Westside Senior Center.

They're on the move with an Angel in Our Midst.

Jazz, walk, step and turn. Jazz, walk, step and place.

Paul; "Just got a wonderful personality."

Right heel, left heel. Right heel, left heel.

Bernice Shires, Wesco Senior Center Member; "She's just the best."

Right, left. Jazz, walk, step and turn.

Eleanor; "Vivacious. She has a lot of ideas."

Eight years ago, Lois Lindt shook things up and got things moving at Myrtle Grove's Wesco Senior Center. She arrives at 4:30 in the morning and doesn't leave until mid-afternoon; everyday.

Paul; "When I first come over here, I figured I'd come over and do a little exercising and that would be it. But, I'm here every day at about 6:30, 6:15 to 6:30 in the morning, I'm here."

Like the other 800-plus members, Paul keeps coming because there's always something to do.

Lois; "We take senior trips. We go to Biloxi about every two or three months. We're working on a trip for Branson. They just love staying active."

There's lots to do right here at the center too. There's a well equipped exercise room, a busy pool table, a getaway library, a thrift store that brings in funds.

Eleanor; "She knows everything that goes on. She's like a school teacher. She has eyes in the back of her head. So, she knows what goes on everywhere and she's always available to help. She's made my life a lot happier."

She knows who needs to get to the grocery store or a doctor's appointment; and she takes them.

Lois; "There's a lot of them that can't do for themselves. If they need house cleaning people, I find those for them. If they need meals and they don't have them, i go take them."

Paul Ricketson, Wesco Senior Center Member; "She's dedicated her life just about to this whole thing. She's just always trying to do something to make everybody happy.

And this total dedication comes from the heart and soul of a "volunteer."

Lois; "My mom taught me, if you help other people, it comes back to you in one way or another"
