Angels in our Midst (The Bell Family)

ESCAMBIA COUNTY  -  Too busy, not the right age, not wealthy enough; some of the host of reasons many people believe they wouldn't be eligible to adopt.
One woman wouldn't be deterred.
She knew she had "one" thing; the heart for a child; the heart of an Angel in our Midst.

Katie;  "It's never quiet here, you know.  Always someone, they're either playing, they're fighting, you know, the TV's blasting."

Pam Bell, Adoptive Mom;  "I look at them every day with amazement that I was given those children."

Her biological children were 22, 19, 17 and 15.  Ages when they were all just about on their own and mom could be carefree.  But, Pam Bell had more nurturing and love to give and the Children's Home Society agreed.
Pam;  "We like that you have other children.  We like that you have animals.  We like that you have a busy lifestyle."

Welcome, Jackson and Emily.  Now 6 and 5 years old, Pam adopted them when they were infants.  Things were about to change in the Bell household.

Katie Bell, Big Sister;  "I was the youngest.  I had three older brothers and I always wanted a little sibling, you know.  I didn't care if it was a girl or a boy."

Pam;  "The days they do have to watch them, and we do have to figure out who's going to watch who."

Katie and Benji have made concessions with their own time and activities.  They don't see it as a sacrifice but an opportunity.

Benji Bell, Big Brother;  "I have gotten the chance to be ...  one of the head coaches for Jack's .... T-ball team.  .... It was just a really great experience for me to do that.  I love every second of it."

And Katie has a little sister who wants to be just like her .... well, most times.

Katie;  "I saw this princess dress and it was all my spending money, because I thought I'd be a big sister and get it for her.  I came home and said, Emily, look what I got you.  And she was like, I don't like that."

She was little but one day, she'll appreciate it.
Pam; " Whenever I look at them, I truly feel amazingly blessed."

Blessed with "all" of her children.  And there's no distinction among them.
Not at all.
We never think of it as "adopted."  They're just Jack and Emily.
