According to a study published this week in The Journal of the National Cancer Institute, sitting for too long may put you at a higher risk for certain types of cancer.

Researchers looked at more than forty previous cancer studies that involved more than four million people to measure how cancer and sitting are linked.

They found that two extra hours of sitting was linked to:
  • increased risks in colon cancer
  • endometrial cancer and lung cancer

The study, however, doesn't say that sitting causes cancer.

Other factors such as smoking, heavy drinking, and being overweight can also increase your risks of getting cancer.Study links sitting with high risks for cancer

The Obama administration achieved a major victory in late June when the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 to uphold the nationwide subsidies for the Affordable Care Act. Open enrollment for 2015 is closed but people with special circumstances can still get covered on healthcare.gov.
