There may be new hope in the fight against Type-II Diabetes.
A new study of 150,000 people has found an extremely rare mutation that could protect against the disease.

Two companies that sponsored the study -- are working on a drug to mimic the gene mutation - but it could take 10 to 20 years to reach market.

The study was published in "Nature Genetics".
The authors admit more research is needed to understand how the mutation lowers the risk of Type II Diabetes.
