Updated: Thursday, January 16 2014, 06:37 PM CST
Supports of medical marijuana are claiming a victory in Florida today..
Advocates say they have enough signatures to put medical marijuana on the fall ballot.

At the same time Republican Representative Matt Gaetz has introduced legislation aiming to use a part of the plant to create an oil help epileptic children.

The main difference between the two: The oil does not have the same THC levels, meaning it won't get a person high.

Rep. Matt Gaetz/(R) Ft. Walton Beach
"I think the Supreme Court has yet to speak, but we're going to give them the opportunity to do so. I'm certainly not a fan of putting a dispensary on every corner, but we're doing very important work here in the legislator's attempting to legalize specific strain of marijuana."

Quinnipiac University poll shows that 82 percent of Floridians support medical marijuana. For more health newsHEALTH NEWS: Supporters of Medical Marijuana claim victory in Florida
