Another health-related law has passed in New York..
New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg has signed a law making it illegal to sell tobacco to anyone who is younger than 21.

The bill also covers electronic cigarettes.
Bloomberg says raising the legal purchase age from 18 to 21 "will help prevent another generation from the ill health and shorter life expectancy that comes with smoking.

The new law takes effect in six months.
