FLORIDA  --  Florida's House and Senate are already considering bills that would legalize medical use of marijuana.

Now legislation has been filed to make recreational pot legal.
The proposal would allow people over 21 to possess up to two-and- a-half ounces of marijuana and six plants.

It would set rules for farming and retail sales.
And the state would charge a tax of 50 dollars an ounce.

The Medical Marijuana bills include one focused on "Charlotte's Web" an extract used to treat seizures that does -not- make the user high.

And a broader bill that allows doctors to prescribe the drug for more than two dozen listed conditions.

An amendment that would legalize medical marijuana prescriptions, sales, and growing operations is also on the Florida ballot in November.  Health related stories
