Health Alert  about a dangerous condition women face during pregnancy and a possible cure.
A new study shows say that taking aspirin, can ward off pre-eclampsia. The condition can be life-threatening for both mother and baby.

Pre-eclampsia happens when the woman's  blood pressure is abnormally high - and it can mean organ failure, seizure,  preterm delivery even death.

The study found that aspirin cut the risk of pre-eclampsia by as much as 24% without significant complications  for mom or baby, and recommends that women who are at risk of pre-eclampsia - take a simple, low dose aspirin daily

Doctors don't know why exactly it works, but it appears to help reduce inflammation and increases blood flow to the placenta. Pre-eclampsia affects approximately 160,000 deliveries every year in the U.S.
