Drug maker Merck is recalling some vials of its HPV vaccines because glass may have ended up in the containers.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says the glass got into one lot of Gardasil vials during the manufacturing process.

They believe the vaccines were sent out between August and October.
The CDC says patients may have mild symptoms, such as swelling at the injection site.

The center says the vaccine itself wasn't affected.
Merck is contacting the clinics that received the recalled vaccines -- so they can be returned.
