Now to the hot trend in staying fit while pregnant - crossfit training.
Crossfit - which involves weightlifting and intense cardio - is getting increasingly popular, but many doctors are concerned that it's too intense for a mother-to-be.

Celebrities from Elizabeth Banks to Paula Patton credit the extreme workout Crossfit with whipping them into shape.

The intense crosstraining - with dead lifts and barbells - is certainly not for the faint of heart
So is it safe for women who are already carrying the extra weight of a baby?

Candace Hester/Does CrossFit While Pregnant: Pregnancy and childbirth is strenuous so that's something I'm training for daily
Candace Hester is 27 weeks pregnant and has been a crossfit fanatic for eight years. She's continued training - and coaching others - right through
her pregnancy

When I met with my midwife she was very comfortable with as long as I listened to my body I could continue training

But these images are creating a lot of buzz on the internet - Lee Ann Ellison, a 33 week pregnant California woman lifting 75 pounds...

Lee-Ann Ellison/Did CrossFit While Pregnant: : Life is dangerous // but I'm not gonna stop living it.

Critics sounded off calling her workout with child "sickening" and "stupid."
But is she putting herself and her baby at risk?

Crossfit Trainer Megan May - who has pregnant clients -  says as long as a doctor approves, and clients aren't new to crossfit, there are ways exercise  safely  while pregnant.

Megan May/Reebok Crossfit 5th Ave: So, first trimester you can keep lifting those weights. Second trimester you need to start scaling back

Cross Fit National says that while they don't agree with Megan May's comments, they don't have any official guidelines on using their system while pregnant. But they say "it is different for everyone based on how experienced they are with crossfit and how fit they are", adding that while the "workout can be very intense...We can scale it to make it appropriate for any population"

Meanwhile, Candace has scaled back a bit
Candace Hester/Does CrossFit While Pregnant: I no longer go for my heaviest attempts at weight lifting

While Candace may crossfit until her due date I am following doctors orders by listening to my body, which was quick to tell me

Linsey on bar - "oh yeah, I can't do this"
