Erika has dissipated

Important Links

The remnants of what was Tropical Storm Erika are just south of southern Florida.  The trough of low pressure is moving W/NW at about 20-25 MPH.  That motion is expected to continue for the next 24 hours.  Southern and Central Florida will likely get heavy rainfall today and Monday.  Rainfall amounts could top four inches.

There is a 20% chance of re-development of the system in the eastern Gulf of Mexico over the next two days.  The impacts are expected to stay mostly the east of our viewing area for the duration, but we will continue to closely monitor the situation.

Those with low or fixed incomes and have no insurance can start the application process for the 'Doctors with a Heart' Program.

For more than 30 years Doctor Gene Terrezza has offered his talents to those who are most in need in our community. Through the Doctors with a Heart Program, the doctor provides free eye and hearing exams.

If a person needs glasses or a hearing aid after they receive their test results Doctor Terrezza says he will provide them. Beginning Wednesday morning those who want to partake in the program have to call one of three locations where the Doctor will be offering the program.

Candidates must answer a series of questions to qualify. Once approved the person will be given an appointment time for Friday February 14th.

"This is just done by me, by my rules so that we can facilitate how things are being done" says Dr. Gene Terrezza.
