Pace resident dies of complications from flu virus

ORLANDO  --  A Pace family is mourning the loss of their daughter.
25 year old Megan Cribbs died in an Orlando hospital yesterday from complications from the flu.
   
She was born and raised in Pace lived in Texas and got sick while on a trip to Disneyworld at Christmas time.
   
She'd been hospitalized in Orlando for the past three weeks.
The Florida Department of Health says most counties are reporting typical flu activity for this time of the year...
   
The most common flu virus reported is still the H1N1 bug which the current vaccine is well-suited for.

Flu Signs and Symptoms

According to the Centers for Disease Control, the flu usually comes on suddenly. People who have the flu often feel some or all of these symptoms:

FLU VS. COMMON COLD

Flu Symptoms (more intense than common cold):

  • Fever 
  • Body aches
  • Extreme tiredness
  • Dry cough are more common and intense
  • Chills
  • HeadachesCommon


Cold Symptoms:  
  • Stuffy/runny nose
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Fever is rare
  • Slight body aches
  • Mild fatigue
